You could see the image of my oil painting: "New Paddock Ascot" on the front and the back of this unique kimono. A high resolution digital photo is taken from my painting by a professional photographer. I design an item in a special program (depending on a company I work with), placing an image of my painting on cuts of patterns. A special advanced technology of printing from digital image is involved (for example "sublimation printing", in which ink is set into synthetic fabric using very high heat. The transferred ink cannot be rubbed off and is evenly distributed within the fabric. It has amazing washability. Sublimation printing is a great way to reproduce artwork on fabric. The results are fantastic! In most of the instances, the image of the fabric is almost identical with my original oil painting.
